— Funeral services for Peter L. Schmidt, 83, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl Church, with Rev. Ronald Krehbiel officiating. Mr. Schmidt, a retired farmer and resident of the Bethesda Home at Goessel, died Sept. 4 at the Bethesda Hospital. A native of Marion County, his first marriage was to Lena Voth. After her death in 1911 he married Agnes Duerksen, and she survives with sons, Adolf of rural Florence and Ed of rural Newton; two daughters, Mrs. Otto Kater of Sedgwick and Mrs. Herbert L. Hiebert of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Dietrich Janzen of Walton, and one step-sister, Mrs. D. D. Reimer of Newton. | |||
