HENRY T. THIESSEN

Henry Teichgraf Thiessen died Dec. 3 in Steinbach, Man. He was born July 24, 1918 in Alexandrowka, eastern Russia. The family immigrated to Giroux, Man. when he was 7. He committed his life to the Lord at 15. He married Elda. He taught in Winnipegosis, Man., coached basketball, directed choirs and built and renovated houses. He retired as school superintendent of Hanover School District in 1983. He treasured his church family, Bible studies, Gideons, and singing in quartets. Family was important. He enjoyed debating, politics, playing games, skiing, curling and golf. Predeceased by 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 granddaughter, he is mourned by Elda; daughters Marilyn Redekop, Barbara Wiebe, Wendy Thiessen; son Bill; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters. The funeral was Dec. 7 in Steinbach MB Church.
