ELIZABETH UNGER

Elizabeth Unger died Sept. 9. She was born Dec. 17,1914 to Abram and Maria Wiebe in Ufa, Russia. The family moved to a farm at Colonsay, Sask. in 1925. When the family moved to Ontario, Elizabeth stayed to work in Saskatoon. She married David Unger Jan. 14, 1945. They farmed at Moose Range and Lobethal, then moved to Main Centre, Sask. in 1953. In 1984 they moved to Herbert, Sask. Elizabeth worked hard to provide for her family. She had a big garden and a few chickens. She took pride in the accomplishments of her children. Because of her sons' mental handicaps she became involved in the Sask. Association for Retarded Children, helping establish a special class for the handicapped. She enjoyed reading, doing word puzzles and crocheting. When caring for the household became too much, David and home care took over. Predeceased by 2 infant sons, 1 sister and 2 brothers, she is mourned by David; daughters Mary Mielke; Ruth Unruh; sons David, Daniel, Paul; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers; 2 sisters;. The funeral was Sept. 13 in Herbert MB Church.
