Anne Wiebe died Aug. 12. She was born Apr. 1, 1923 to Henry and Justina Poettker in Ukraine. The family immigrated to Canada in 1925 and settled in Ontario in the late 1920s. Anne left home at 13 to work as a domestic in Hamilton. She accept ed the Lord in her youth and was a member of United Mennonite Church, Port Rowan, Ont. She married Nick Wiebe Oct. 27, 1946 after waiting 4 years for him to return from the war. Nick died in 1988. Anne volunteered at Port Rowan MCC Thrift Shop, NorfoJk General Hospital Gift Shop and other community organizations.
