President Reports $5,800 Bequest

Dr. Eldon W. Graber has announced the receipt of a gift of more than $5,800 for Freeman Junior College from the estate of the late Rebecca Hofer. Miss Hofer, a Freeman resident and member of the Bethany Mennonite Church here, passed away last September, after a lingering illness. She had been active in the Missionary Society of the church.

The board of directors designated about half of this gift for the current fund, with the remainder to be invested by the Annuity Committee.

At the quarterly meeting on April 19, the board heard reports from standing committees. The Alumni Assn. and the Women's Auxiliary reported they had assisted the college with gifts for debt reduction and for the current fund. The board authorized the borrowing of sufficient funds to cover April salary needs.
