ANNA POETKER
Anna Poetker died
June 14. She was born
Mar.19, 1914 in Orenburg, Ukraine to Gerhard and Agatha
Klassen. In 1926 they
immigrated to Canada, eventually settling
in Steinbach, Man.
Anna did domestic
work in Winnipeg. She
married Jacob Poetker in 1938 and farmed
with him. They moved to Steinbach in 1991.
Alzheimer's Disease eroded her abilities. She
was easy-going, friendly, hospitable, devoted
to family. She often sang favourite hymns.
Predeceased by Jacob and two children in infancy, she leaves daughters Helen Christoffersen, Frieda Fast, Irene Rochon,
Betty Osborne, Edith Huskins, Irma Esau; sons Art,
Jake, Peter, Ben, Phil; 25 grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren; 1 brother; 1 sister. The
funeral was June 18 in Steinbach MB Church.
