MARILYN WILLMS
Marilyn Louise Willms of Richmond, B.C. died suddenly Mar. 9. She was born Nov. 27, 1934 to Alfred and Dora Follows in Amherstburg, Ont She had a secretarial career. She married Ted Brewer in 1954. They lived on the east coast of Maine where Marilyn acquired an interest in ocean sports. She coached girls softball and basketball teams, and led Girl Scout troops. The marriage ended in divorce in 1974. Marilyn moved to Ontario, working at the University of Guelph. She married Ed Willms Apr. 15, 1976, accepting his son and daughter. They moved to Kelowna, B.C. in 1978. She loved gardening and was hospitable and generous. She made a commitment to Christ and took her faith seriously, demonstrating her love for God in personal devotions and acts of kindness. She joined the Gideons, volunteered and ministered to street youth in Vancouver. In 1989 they moved to Abbotsford, B.C. They travelled full-time for several years, across Canada, to 46 states and overseas, then settled in White Rock, B.C. and later in Richmond. She is mourned by Ed; son Russell; daughter Barb; grandchildren. The funeral was Mar. 13 in Fraserview MB Church, Richmond.
