New York Farmer Killed When Tractor is Hit by Auto
Lowville, N. Y. — A highway accident near here on Jan. 23 claimed the life of Reuben W. Roggie, 67, Lowville area farmer.
He was driving a garden tractor to the farm of his son, Donald, in late afternoon when struck from the rear by a car driven by Mrs. Helen Springsteen of Liverpool, N. Y. Death was caused by a broken neck and crushed chest.
Surviving in addition to his widow and son Donald are three daughters, four sisters and three brothers.
He was a member of the Lowville Conservative Mennonite Church, where the funeral was conducted on Sunday, Jan. 26, by the pastor, Rev. Elias Zehr.
