The young man, a freshman at the University of Kansas, was driving west of Topeka when the car struck a concrete pillar under Interstate 70. A companion, 19-year-old Kerry Martin, was seriously injured. Stephen was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Franzen of the Goessel community. |
