Kalona, Iowa. &#8212; Relatives and friends from a number of eastern and midwestern states came here for the largely attended funeral of John D. Yoder, 82, retired bishop of the Amish church, held Oct. 20 at the Levi Yoder home in Kalona.
 
Bishop Yoder died Oct. 18 at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. David H. Bender.  He had made his home with the Benders since coming here from Hutchinson, Kan.
 
A native of Indiana, he was married to Catherine Miller at Thomas, Okla. in 1907.  They lived in Oklahoma until moving to the Amish settlement near Hutchinson in 1937.

Services for Amish Bishop Held in Iowa

Kalona, Iowa. — Relatives and friends from a number of eastern and midwestern states came here for the largely attended funeral of John D. Yoder, 82, retired bishop of the Amish church, held Oct. 20 at the Levi Yoder home in Kalona.

Bishop Yoder died Oct. 18 at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. David H. Bender. He had made his home with the Benders since coming here from Hutchinson, Kan.
