• David I. Schroeder, 81, lifelong resident of the Goessel community, died Sunday at the Bethesda Hospital. He engaged in farming most of his life, moving to Goessel in 1949 and to the Bethesda Home there in May of last year. His wife, the former Mary Hiebert, died in 1961. Surviving are a son, George I. of rural Newton; one daughter, Mrs. Pete Wedel of rural Canton; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters. The funeral was conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Goessel Mennonite Church, with Rev. Levi Koehn in charge. | |||
