GLEN [sic GLENN] ROBERT JANTZ

Glenn Robert Jantz was born June 5, 1921, at Newton, Kan. and passed away May 15, 1968, due to an accident while doing construction work about 130 miles south of his home at Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He grew to manhood in the community of Hesston, Kan. At the age of 13 years he repented and received forgiveness of his sins and was baptized Jan. 4, 1937 into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, of which he was a faithful member until his death.

During World War II he spent nearly four years in Civilian Public Service of which one year was spent in Puerto Rico. After his return from service in the fall of 1947, he moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

On Feb. 22, 1948, he was joined in marriage to Eva Merle Amoth [sic Hiebert] with whom he shared the joys and sorrows of life a little over 20 years. To this union ten children were born.

In 1957, due to his father's ailing health, he with his family moved to Hesston, Kan. for about a year, during which time his father passed away.

Glenn was of a pleasant disposition and his sincere and devoted life won him many friends. He was a faithful Christian father. He had a deep spiritual concern for his family, and was very faithful in laboring to supply their temporal needs.

Glenn was a carpenter and contractor by trade and was very instrumental in the construction of our present church building.

Surviving him are his sorrowing wife, Eva; six daughters: Anita Iris, Glenda Rose, Twyla Fern, Melva Joy, Gloria Dawn, and Geneva Grace; four sons: Lynn Robert, Timothy Rolan, Merrill Glenn, and Duane Howard, all of the home. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Dan Jantz of Hesston, Kan.; five sisters and three brothers-in-law; Addella [sic Adella] and Roma Jantz of Hesston, Kan., Bernice and Albert Nightengale of Ingalls, Kan., Waneta and Wesley Amstutz of Topeka, Kan., and Emily and Harry Nachtigal of Arvada, Colo. He leaves five brothers and three sisters-in-law: Cecil of McPherson, Kan., Marcellus of Valrico, Fla., Marion and Evelyn of Horton, Mo., Jason and Ella of McPherson, Kan., and Donald and Eva May of Butler, Mo.

Funeral services were held at Mountain View Mennonite Church, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, on May 20, 1968, with Ministers Paul Wenger, Curtis L. Dirks, and Clifford Mastre officiating.
