MICHELLE RENEE NEUFELD

Michelle Neufeld was born to John and Carolyn Neufeld of Langley, B.C. on October 24, 1978. She came into the world struggling: she was dwarfed and had hydrocephalis. Her lungs as well as her bronchial tubes were inadequate. After three weeks in the hospital she spent three months at home before she returned to the hospital with pneumonia. She remained in the hospital for six months on a respirator machine. She returned home for four final months. Her father John writes: "Those four months were the best of our lives-happiness, sadness, love, anger, peace, fear, contentment and worry .... In spite of her handicaps, her pain and her almost constant struggle, Michelle stayed so happy and her trust in us was total. What a lesson we can all learn from this." Michelle caught a cold just after Christmas, and passed away on December 27, 1979.
