Immigrant of 1870s Dies at Mt. Lake
Mt. Lake, Minn. — Funeral services for Jacob Worms, 91, who was among the pioneer immigrants from Russia in the 1870s, were held Feb 6 at the First Mennonite Church here. He had been a member of this church since 1900.
Born in South Russia in 1877, he was brought to the United States by his parents the following year. they settled first at Henderson, Neb., later moving to South Dakota and then to the Delft community near here.
Mr. Worms married Maria Goertzen in 190, and she died in 1948. He had been a resident of Eventide home here since then. Six daughters and one son and their families survive.
