Fatally Injured in Boating Accident
Livingston, Calif. — Victor Dirks, 31, of Livingston was killed Oct. 14 when he toppled off the motor boat he was operating on Lake Yosemite during a family outing.
The young man was sitting on the side of the boat and apparently his hand slipped from the steering device and he fell into the water. The boat spun around and he was hit on the back of the head by a propeller blade. The body was recovered at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15.
The funeral was held here Oct. 18 at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his father. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Virginia Dirks, four brothers and four sisters.
