•  Mrs. E. L. (Amanda Mary) Berner, 69, a resident of the Newton and Hesston communities most of her life, died last Friday at Bethel Deaconess Hospital.  She was a member of the Church of God.  Surviving in addition to her husband of the home in Newton are four daughters, including Mrs. Ralph Vogt of Hesston; a son Carl of Meade; one sister, Mrs. Jacob Dyck of Hesston; three brothers, A. L. Yost of Hesston, Rev. Harvey Yost of Greensburg, Kan., and Rev. E. M. Yost of Denver, Colo.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
