Kalona, Ia. &#8212; An accident on the highway north of here April 21 resulted in instant death for John A. Miller, 66, a minister of the Old Order Amish Church.
 
Min. Miller and his niece, Annie Yoder, were en route home by horse and buggy after viewing the body of a relative at a Kalona funeral home when the buggy was hit from the rear by a car.  Min. Miller was thrown to the pavement, but his niece escaped injury.
 
A native of this community, Min. Miller was ordained in 1937.  About 800 persons attended the funeral, held at the family residence.

Amish Minister Killed on Highway Near Kalona, Ia.

Kalona, Ia. — An accident on the highway north of here April 21 resulted in instant death for John A. Miller, 66, a minister of the Old Order Amish Church.

Min. Miller and his niece, Annie Yoder, were en route home by horse and buggy after viewing the body of a relative at a Kalona funeral home when the buggy was hit from the rear by a car. Min. Miller was thrown to the pavement, but his niece escaped injury.
