John E. Heatwole, 80, died at his home near Weavers Mennonite church May 6. He had been in failing health the past six months from a heart condition. Mr. Heatwole’s first wife was Miss Mary Hartman, who died Jan. 23, 1938. His second wife, Mrs. Cora (Grove) Eshleman Heatwole, died Nov. 4, 1949. On Nov. 13, 1950, he was united in marriage with Mrs. Vornelia (Shank) Showalter, who survives along with three children, Mrs. Ethel Lehman, Mrs. Daniel (Grace) Blosser and Roland D. Heatwole, all of Harrisonburg, and nine step-children.

Funeral services were conducted May 8 at his home with Rev. R. W. Benner in charge, and at Weavers Mennonite church, of which he was a member, in charge of Rev. Oliver Keener assisted by Bishop Samuel H. Rhodes. Burial was in the Weavers Mennonite church cemetery.

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert N. Rounds died May 6, age one day. Besides his father and mother, who before marriage was Miss Mary Early, he is survived by one brother, Nevin Dale; the grandparents, Roy Early of Dale Enterprise and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar S. Rounds of Swanton, Md. Funeral services were conducted at the home on May 7 with Rev. T. I. Bowman officiating, and burial was made in the Pleasant View Mennonite church cemetery.
