• Funeral services for Raymond Wendell Schmidt, 45, were held Friday afternoon at Draper's Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Arthur Busch officiating. Mr. Schmidt's lifeless body was found in his car on East Broadway Wednesday afternoon, after relatives had reported him missing Wednesday morning. The distinct coroner said he had been dead about 12 hours, but the cause of death was not immediately apparent. Mr. Schmidt was a traveling musician for a number of years, and recently had been giving private music lessons here. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the American Federation of Musicians. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto R. Schmidt of Newton; one sister, Mrs. Wayne Magnuson of El Dorado; and his grandmother, Mrs. Martin Thimm, Newton.
