MRS. MARTHA SCHROEDER

(Mrs.) Martha Schroeder of Swift Current, Sask. passed into the presence of the Lord on September 22. She was born December 29, 1906, a twin, to Jacob and Nettie Ensz in Arena, North Dakota. Her parents moved to Neidpath, Sask. in 1912. She attended public school at the Ensz School near Neidpath. The same building, referred to as "the Ensz station," served as a church, to which the family would go for Sunday services. Martha attended the Herbert Bible School from 1921-1923, and at revival meetings in the Herbert Mennonite Brethren Church in March, 1923, she declared her faith in a living Saviour and became a Christian. She married John S. Schroeder on June 18, 1925. They moved to Main Centre, Sask. where they farmed for 48 years. She was bap tized by Jacob Martens and became a member of the Main Centre Mennonite Brethren Church on August 24, 1930. In August 1977 she was told by her doc tors that she had inoperable cancer.

She is remembered by the family as a "servant", who gave generous support to the work of the Lord in her practical, quiet way. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband John; two sons, Edward of New Delhi, India, and Arthur of Richmond, B.C.; three daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Frank) Friesen of Medicine Hat, Alta., Doris (Mrs. Philip) Wiebe of Burnaby, B.C., Irene (Mrs. Eldon) Penner of Virgil, Ont.; 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five sisters and one brother, as well as many other relatives and friends.
