JACOB F. FUNK

Jacob F . Funk of Vineland, Onto died eacefully on September 19 at the age of 86. He was born on June I, 1892 to Franz and Helena (Neufeld) Funk in Osterwick, southern Russia. In 1900 his parents moved to the Orenburg settlement, where at the age of 19 he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. His first wife, Tine (nee Redekop), ied in 1939. Later that year he married Maria Loewen. In 1962 the couple moved to he United Mennonite Home for the Aged in Vineland. His wife died in April, 1973. He leaves two daughters and their hus bands, Fred and Helen Mason of Willowdale, Ont., and John and Frieda Dueck of Niagara n-the-Lake, Ont., seven grandchildren, five reat-grandchildren, and two sisters in Russia. Words which gave meaning to Mr. Funk's ife and served as a testimony at the end are Col. 1: 13 and 14: "For he delivered us from he domain of darkness, and transferred us o the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of ins."
