MRS. JUSTINA TOEWS
Justina Toews of Saskatoon went to be with the Lord on October 4. She was born to David and Katharine Dick on September 6, 1898 in Apanlee, South Russia. During her childhood she made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Saviour. On July 30, 1921 she married Jacob Toews. The couple and one son came to Canada in 1926 and settled at Fiske, Saskatchewan. In 1926 they moved to Watrous where they farmed. In 1939 they moved to the Guernsey (Sask.) district, in 1955 to Manitou Beach, and in 1961 back to Watrous. Mr. Toews died in 1969. Mrs. Toews was admitted to the Central Haven Personal Care Home in Saskatoon in 1977.
She leaves to mourn her children Waldemar and Charlotte, Saskatoon, Elfrieda and Otto Dick, Glenlea, Man., Hedy and John Wall, Watrous, Victor and Anne Toews, Guernsey, and Addison and Gerda Klassen, Randolph, Man., 33 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five sisters, one brother, and many relatives and friends. The children take as encouragement their mother's cheerful view of life and keen interest in the fellowship of the church family.
