JACOB WIENS

Jacob Wiens of Port Rowan, Ont., was born to Jacob and Margaret Wiens on February 7, 1911, in Ruckenau, Russia. He came to Canada with his parents in 1924, settling first in Kitchener, Ont., until 1928, at which time they moved to Port Rowan, Onto

He had accepted Christ in his younger years, and was baptized and joined the Port Rowan Mennonite Brethren Church in 1928. He married Sarah Boese in 1937, and together they raised a family of six children. He farmed for 12 years before becoming a Fuller Brush salesman, an occupation he held until his retirement.

Failing health in the last year resulted in hospitalization in May, and on July 1,, it pleased the Lord to take him home.

He leaves to mourn his wife Sarah; three sons: Edward and his wife Ronda, Ronald and Karolyn, and Roger and Stella; two daughters: Arlene (Mrs. Richard) Mudford and Sandra (Mrs. Melvin) Long; 13 grand children; and one brother, Peter.
