He married Susan Penner July 25, 1953. He retired after over 38 years on the V-8 engine block line at General Motors, Plant 2. Cancer was found six years ago. He faced the struggle with courage, staying positive, active and involved. He was much loved. He is mourned by Susan; children Rudy, Sharron, and Carol Lautenbach; 7 grandchildren; and 2 sisters. The funeral was Dec. 15 in Grantham MB Church, St. Catharines, with John Wiebe and Richard deLange ministering.
