MRS. ELIZABETH FAST

(Mrs.) Elizabeth Fast was born on March 26, 1907, the daughter of Cornelius and Helena (nee Braun) Willms in southern Russia. In her youth Elizabeth accepted Christ as her Saviour, was baptized and joined the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren Church. On April 27, 1926 she became the bride of Henry H. Fast. Several months later the young couple joined their parents in Canada, where they had settled in the Hepburn, Sask., area. In 1945 the Fasts moved to Chilliwack, B.C., where they found many like-minded brothers and sisters in the Mennonite Brethren Church. Chilliwack remained their home until their earthly pilgrimage was completed.

After her husband's death in October, 1976, God saw fit to send sickness and suffering into Mrs. Fast's own life. Quietly she accepted God's way for her until she was also called to her eternal home on January 4. Her faith, her prayer life and willingness to accept God's ways in her life left a witness to the grace and sufficiency of God.

She leaves to mourn five sons: Henry, Corny, Reuben, Victor and Jake; three daughters : Helen (Mrs. Jake) Kroeker, Kay (Mrs. Walter) Friesen, and Ruth (Mrs. Carl) Warkentin; 17 grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers and a sister and many friends.
