He was a strong. supporter of education and missions. He is remembered as a forthright, loving father whose Christianity was practical. God was a priority, and he was willing to risk and sacrifice for his cause. Their home was a warm, loving centre for the family. In 1963 they semi-retired to Winnipeg. In 1972 they retired to Clearbrook, where he sang in the male choir and they were full participants in church activities. He is mourned by his wife; children Helen of Abbotsford, B.C., John of Calgary, Elfrieda of Calgary, Victor of Vancouver, Margaret of Clearbrook and Ernie of Morden, Man.; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
