&#8212;  Miss Marjorie Speer is dead as the result of a Fourth of July celebration, which ended in a tragedy.  In company with Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Muff and daughter Edith, she was going out with them to celebrate Monday evening with a large bunch of firecrackers, which were kept in the tonneau of the car, at some place in the country.  Stopping at the Mrs. Lula Rose home where Misses Elaine and Warrine were to join them, when Miss Muff lighted a firecracker and in some way it fell back into the box and ignited the remainder, which resulted in death of Miss Speer at the Axtell Hospital Tuesday evening.  Miss Muff is in such a bad condition that it is doubtful whether she will live.  Mr. and Mrs. Muff escaped with less severe burns.
