• A 51-year-old Salina livestock dealer lost his life as a result of a two-car crash just east of Burrton on US-50 last Sunday evening. Traveling north on the Mt. Hope-Burrton road, Eugene Sundgren failed to stop for the highway and crashed into a car driven by Kay Myers, 22, of Haven, employed as a nurse at Prairie View Hospital. Sundgren was found in a ditch, his face submerged in water, and death was believed due to drowning. Miss Myers also was thrown out but escaped with minor injuries.
