• Mrs. Ira Eigsti, 64, a resident of Schowalter Villa at Hesston, died Monday morning at Bethel Hospital where she had been a patient since Jan. 9. Funeral services are announced for Thursday forenoon at the Hesston Mennonite Church, with Rev. Peter Wiebe and Rev. Wesley Jantz officiating. A former resident of Illinois, Mrs. Eigsti had been living with a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Zehr of Manson, Iowa before coming to Hesston. Esther E. Eigsti was born near Bellefontaine, Ohio on July 22, 1899, the daughter of Jonathan B. and Esther (Hooley) Hartzler. She had a conversion experience with Christ when 10 years old. | |||
She was married to Ira Eigsti on Sept. 1, 1923, near Marshallville, Ohio, and resided near Tiskilwa, Ill. In 1955 a move was made to Sarasota, Florida, and in November 1962, residence was begun in Hesston, Kan., in Schowalter Villa Cottage She passed away Jan. 27, 1964, in Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton, Kan. at the age of 64 years, five month, five days. Death came as a result of cancer. | |||
Of the five children, Mabel died at th age of 13.
