Long-Time Berlin, Ohio Resident Called by Death
Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Funeral services for George W. Beechy, 82, long-time resident of the Berlin community, were held Oct. 1 at the Berlin Mennonite Church. He died at the Millersburg hospital Sept. 29, four months after suffering injuries in a fall.
A native of Holmes County, he was a retired farmer and former blacksmith and machinist at the Eureka Machine Co., Sugarcreek. His first wife, Katie, died in 1945.
Surviving are his second wife, Martha Miller Beechy; three sons, Ralph and Orin of Wooster, and Dr. Atlee Beechy of Goshen College, Goshen, Ind.; three step-sons; seven sisters, two brothers, and 18 grandchildren.
Mr. Beechy was the oldest resident of Berlin.
