Two “World Citizens” Called Away in Death

Two widely honored “world citizens” have been called away in death.

At Minneapolis, Minn. Dr. Jean F. Piccard, 79, famous scientist who probed ocean depths and outer space, died of a heart attack on his birthday. He was a native of Basel, Switzerland.

Robert Frost, America's poet laureate, died at Boston at the age of 89. Referring to Frost's passing, President Kennedy said his death “leaves a vacancy in the American spirit.”
