text of obituary:
Mrs. Kaethe Friesen
Kaethe Friesen was born March 21, 1908, in Ufa, Russia, to Johann and Agatha Friesen. Soon after Kaethe's birth the family moved to Southern Russia and settled in Herzenberg. It was here that Kaethe accepted the Lord as her Saviour. She was baptized in 1923 and joined the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren Church.
In 1926 the family moved to Brandon, Manitoba. Kaethe worked in her home and was also very active in the church, serving in the choir and Sunday School. In 1944 the family moved to Greendale, B.C., and not long after both her parents went home to the Lord. Kaethe and her sister, Agatha, then acquired a home in Chilliwack, B.C. In this congregation she also found a spiritual home and participated as she was able. She was always keenly interested in the proclamation of the Gospel, and was seldom absent from the services while her health permitted. In earlier years she was loved by the children for her ability to captivate their interest with a story.
The Tabor Home became her last earthly home and she appreciated the love and care she received there. On January 16 the Lord took her home after a brief illness following a stroke.
She leaves to mourn her passing three sisters, Agatha Friesen and (Mrs.) Marie Martens of B.C., and (Mrs.) Helen Klassen of Manitoba; and six brothers, Heinrich, Kornelius, Peter, Franz, Hans, and Jakob.
