GEORGE WILLIAM WIEBE

George William Wiebe was born February 12, 1886 and grew up in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. He accepted Christ into his life in 1907, was baptized by Rev. Heinrich Voth, and joined the Mountain Lake Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1908 he moved to Dalmeny, Sask., and subsequently farmed in Saskatchewan and B.C. until retiring in 1952 to Abbotsford, B.C.

On April 11, 1909 he married Margaret Niebuhr in Sunnyside, Alberta, and the couple was blessed with 11 children, three of which predeceased him. His wife, Margaret, passed away in 1956. In 1957 Mr. Wiebe married Mrs . Anna (nee Hildebrand) Peters and they moved to Clearbrook, B.C. In June of 1974 the Wiebes moved into the Tabor Home there.

Mr. Wiebe enjoyed good health until the spring of 1974, when he underwent surgery for cancer. He entered the hospital again on October 3, and on October 17 his longing to go home was fulfilled.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Anna, five sons, Bill, John, Walter, and George of B.C., and Henry of Santa Cruz, California; three daughters, Helen and Mary of Vancouver and Margaret of Sunnyvale, California; 11 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three stepsons and one step· daughter.
