Berne, Ind. — Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite Church here Sunday, Oct. 16, for Walter Liechty, 74, a lifelong resident and widely known retired farmer of this community.
Although not in the best of health for some years, Mr. Liechty was not considered to be dangerously ill. He was out in the yard of his home when stricken and passed away with in minutes. It is beleived [sic] death was due to a heart attack.
Two sons and three daughters survive.
