On April 6, 1902 he was united in marriage with our mother, Justina Goossen, with whom he was privileged to share the joys and sorrows of married life on their farm in Mari9on county for 53years. To this union six children were born, one of whom, Martha, preceded them both in death at an early age. On April 6, 1937 our parents were privileged to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary, and on April 6, 1952 they had the rare privilege of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. | |||

— Funeral services for the aged Peter J. Flaming of Goessel were held Sunday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl church, Rev. John Thiessen and Rev. P. A. Wedel officiating. A lifelong resident of Marion county, Mr. Flaming died Feb. 18 at the Bethesda hospital at the age of 81. he had moved to Goessel from the farm in November 1958. Survivors include three sons, two daughters, one brother, three sisters and 21 grandchildren.

PETER J. FLAMING
Peter J. Flaming, so of Jacob and Helena (Koehn) Flaming, was born on Oct. 26, 1878 in Marion county, Kansas. He departed this life on Feb. 18, 1960, having reached the age of 81 years,four months and 21 days.
He spent most of his life on the farm in Marion county with the exception of the past year during which he lived in Goessel, Kansas. He also received his education in the Antioch school in Marion county.
