&#8212; Mrs. David A. Schmidt, 97, a native of Russia who came to the United States in 1877, died Oct. 16 at the Cedar Rest Nursing home near Marion where she had been a patient for some time. Funeral services were held at the Tabor Mennonite church on Monday afternoon, with Rev. James Waltner and Rev. H. B. Schmidt officiating. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Isaac Schmidt and Mrs. H. H. Androes of Newton, and Mrs. Marie Zacharias of Hillsboro; two sons, A. B. Schmidt of Tucson, Ariz. and Arnold T. Schmdit of Newton; one brother, John Becker [Bekker] of Newton; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
