MARY BLOCK
(Mrs.) Mary Block (nee Thiessen) was born on September 9, 1914 in Russia to Abraham and Maria Thiessen. The first twelve years of her life were spent in Russia rom which she emigrated with her parents o Canada. They settled in Steinbach, Man.
While working in Winnipeg she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at the age of 14. Later, on August 25, 1929, she was aptized by C. N. Hiebert.
She married Peter A. Block on October 18, 1936 in Steinbach. During most of their married years they lived on a farm near Waldheim, Sask. where they joined the Mennonite Brethren Church in 1961. In 1968 hey moved into the town of Waldheim.
Her involvement in church and with her amily gave her many enjoyable times during her life. Her service, love and dedication will ong be remembered by those who were close o her.

She is urvived by her husband Peter; three daugh ers, Mary Anne and Roy Bartel of Saska oon, Doris and Helmut Friesen of Hepburn, Sask. and Ann and Tony Zeschuk of Lloyd minster; three sons: Peter and Margaret of Waldheim, Abe and Shirley of Abbotsford, B.C. and Bill of Waldheim; thirteen grand children; three brothers and four sisters.
