MRS. BERTHA FLORENCE YODER

Mrs. Bertha Florence Yoder, daughter of the late Menno S. Yoder and Saloma Ann Kauffman Yoder, was born Dec. 19, 1884 near Five Points, Monroe township, Ohio. She died at her home in West Liberty, Ohio, Dec. 30, 1958, aged 74 years and 10 days.

She was married to Elmer L. Yoder on Dec. 3, 1915. Her husband predeceased her on May 9, 1935. To their union were born four children, Kathryn, Pauline and Winifred, all at home, and Willis who predeceased her. Also four brothers and one sister predeceased her. One sister, Mrs. John H. Warye (Nellie) of West Liberty survives.

She and her husband farmed in Logan County from 1915 until 1935 when the family moved to their present home in West Liberty. She was in failing health for the last three years and seriously ill with a heart condition for the last nine weeks. She suffered patiently and cheerfully and never complained. She had a strong faith in Christ and frequently expressed a desire to go home to be with the Lord. She was a devoted mother to her children and enjoyed doing things with her family. She loved flowers and all the beautiful things of nature and enjoyed sharing them with others.

She accepted Christ as her Saviour in her youth and united with the South Union Mennonite Church, of which she remained a faithful member until her death.

Funeral services were held at the South Union Church on Jan. 2, 1959, in charge of Roy S. Koch and Edward Stoltzfus. Burial was in the South Union cemetery.
