— Funeral services for Jacob C. Toews, 65, were held here Friday afternoon at Moody's Funeral Chapel and at the Emmaus Mennonite Church near Whitewater, where he was a member. Rev. L. R. Amstutz, pastor of the church, officiated. Mr. Toews died Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 30, at Bethel Deaconess hospital. He had farmed near Whitewater for many years until moving to Newton in 1956 with his wife and son Arthur. Surviving are his wife, his mother, Mrs. John Toews of Mt. Lake; three sons, Kenneth L. and Herman L. of Whitewater, and Arthur J. of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Jesse Krehbiel of Wichita, and two brothers and two sisters.
