JOSIAH J. MILLER SERVED SHORE CONGREGATION FOR OVER HALF A CENTURY
Shipshewana, Ind. — Funeral services were held at the Shore Mennonite Church on April 24 for Rev. Josiah J. Miller, 87, who had served the Shore congregation as minister for well over half a century. He died April 22 at his home after a long illness.
A native of Lagrange County, Rev. Miller was a lifelong resident of this community. He was ordained to the ministry on Oct. 15, 1902, and was a minister and farmer most of his life.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lizzie Hostetler, two sons, five daughters, 34 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren. A son, Rev. Percy J. Miller, is also a minister of the Shore church. In addition, there are four step-children: Rev. S. J. Hostetler of Ghana, Africa; Rev. J. J. Hostetler of Peoria, Ill., Rev. Wilbur Hostetler and Lloyd Hostetler of Goshen.
