DIETRICH HEINRICH LOEWEN

Mrs. Heinrich H. Loewen, and beloved husband of Helena Loewen, was born Deceber 31, 1875 in New Halbstadt, South Russia. In 1901 he married Kornelia Bargen, a union blessed with nine children of which three are still living. In the summer of 1916 Mrs. Loewen passed away.

He married Helena Derksen in 1919. The marriage was blessed with four children which two are still living.

Dietrich accepted the Lord as his Saviour while doing alternative service for the government in the late 1800's. On May 30, 1911 he was baptized and received in the Mennonite Brethren Church.

He came to Canada with the family in 1926 and farmed in the south Saskachewan area until I962 when he retired into the town of Herbert. He passed away December 15. Rev. William Buller officiated at the funeral held December 19 in the Mennonite Brethren Church of Herbert.

He leaves to mourn his wife Helena; two sons: Dietrich of Lawson, Sask. and George and wife Anita of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters: Anna and husband Abram Froese of Nipawin, Sask., Elizabeth and husband Henry Funk of Clearbrook, B.C., Helen and husband Pete Klassen of Kelstern, Sask,; one, daughter-in-law and one half-sister, Maria, in Russia.
