AGNES NEUFELD

Agnes Neufeld was born on June 7, 1953 to Henry and Helen (Matz) Neufeld at Halbstadt, Colony Neuland Paraguay, In April 1959 she came to Coaldale, Alberta with her parents, moving in 1961 with the family to Virgil, Ontario.

In 1962 she opened her heart to the Lord, and in 1967 she rededicated her life to Him. On July 27, 1969 she was baptized and received into the Virgil Mennonite Brethren Church. Since then she was active in the choir, young peoples, and teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

Last September she had the opportunity to go to Bethany Bible Institute, Hepburn, Sask. She was gifted in drawing and lettering and while at Bible School had made the following motto," Since the Lord is directing our path, why try to understand everything that happens along the way?" Provo 20:24.

She decided not to go back after Christmas and while at home made a motto showing the praying hands and the words "Life is fragile, handle with Prayer."

She died suddenly, on April 28, of a brain hemorrhage.

Funeral services were held May 2 in the Virgil MB Church. Officiating were Rev. J. G. Baerg, assisted by John Klassen, Young People's leader. Many had come to pay their last respects.

Agnes is survived by loving parents, a brother Rudi, two sisters Hilda and Johanna as well as grandparents, relatives and friends.

God's Intervention

So young So full of life Energy Happiness Before her A future, Marriage. God said Not here, But above Her spirit shall live. She is not dead Though her body rests. You who are deeply saddened Rejoice Because she lives Where there is Eternal youth Life abundant Energy unlimited Happiness beyond description A never ending future A marriage supper That we all look forward to. She waits there And we wait here. As we wait Let us not concentrate On the grief. Let us rather Reach out in love To family members Still with us, To those around us. Then God can give healing and joy, Till we too Reach the eternal goal.
