Anna Neufeld was born on Dec. 16, 1886, in Sagradowka, Russia, the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Peter Boldt, She was married to Peter Neufeld on Nov. 14, 1912, While residing in Russia, their home was blessed with six children, two of whom died in infancy.

They left Russia in 1925, during the Revolution and settled on a farm in Grassy Lake, Alberta , Three more boys were born to them during their early years on the farm. The Neufelds were instrumental in starting the Mennonite Brethren Church in the new settlement at Grassy Lake. They remained very active in the church and the community until their retirement to Dawson Creek in 1960.

Anna was predeceased by her husband in 1964, a grandson, Don Hendricks, in 1968, and her eldest son, Peter Neufeld, in 1972, The eight years following her husband's death were spent in the care of her daughter.
