MRS. AGANETHA BRUCKS
Aganetha Brucks, nee Dueck, was born in Klippenfeld, southern Russia, in 1889, the second child in a family of eight. She had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home and in her eighteenth year, through the ministry of Abram Nachtigal, she was led to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In 1908 the Lord brought Heinrich Brucks into her life and they were joined in marriage. God gave them 43 years together, a marriage that was blessed with 10 children, eight daughters and two sons. The youngest son predeceased her. Later they took three additional children into their home, who were loved, nurtured and taught as their own.
In 1922 they joined the Mennonite Brethren church, of which they remained members until ,their death. They left Russia for Canada in 1926 and found a new home in Coaldale, Alta. After 13 years they moved to Yarrow, B.C. Later, after the death of her husband, Mrs. Brucks moved to Clearbrook.
