Justina Martens Boese was born to Mr. and Mrs. David D. Martens of Buhler, Kansas April 22, 1899. Here she spent her childhood and moved with her parents to Hooker, Okla. in 1905. She experienced some of the hardships of the early settlers of this part of Oklahoma.
