ABRAM JACOB DICK

Rev. Abram Jacob Dick, the oldest of seven children, was born in Russia on August 31, 1893. He accepted the Lord as his Saviour at an early age and was baptized into the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren Church in 1910. On July 1, 1918, he married Tina Stobbe. They emigrated to Canada in 1924 and settled near Glenbush, Saskatchewan. The church there ordained him to the ministry in 1939, and for 26 years he served the congregations in Glenbush and Saskatoon . After moving to Saskatoon in 1943 he continued his active lay ministry, serving faithfully at the TB Sanitorium. He was a man of practical faith and lived an exemplary, dedicated Christian life. He passed away quietly in his sleep on October 16, after a lengthy illness, having reached the age of 78.
