The First Mennonite church was filled to capacity Tuesday afternoon for the funeral of G. R. Toevs, who passed away quite unexpectedly last Saturday afternoon. Mr. Toevs had been sick from the flu several weeks ago, but had recovered sufficiently to visit some of the business friends in town. Here he suffered a light heart attack and was taken home. After some improvement, these attacks increased in severity and death came on Saturday afternoon. The funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. J. E. Entz and at the church by Rev. A. Warkentin and Dr. E. G. Kaufman of Bethel College. Among the many out of town guests who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John T. Claassen, and children Rudolf and Gertrude; Jacob Claassen and son Fritz; William Claassen; Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Wiebe and their oldest daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Penner, all of Beatrice, Nebr.
