— The many friends of Mrs. Frieda Voth Flaming, wife of Jake Flaming, were deeply shocked when word spread on Wednesday morning that she was mangled to death by a bull at the family home several miles east of Goessel. Seeing the bull entangled with his chain in some tree stumps about 300 feet back of the barn, she went out to loosen him. He, upon being released, turned and attacked her. She had been rolled a considerable distance before her husband, who was doing the morning’s milking in the barn, became aware of her distress and rushed to her aid. In his attempt to tie the enraged animal to a nearby tree he himself was attacked, but finally succeeded in getting the chain fastened. When he got back to his wife she spoke only a few more words and several moments later passed away. Upon hearing of the tragedy, neighbors quickly gathered at the farm home and later in the day took the still unmanageable bull to the Wichita market. Mrs. Voth [''sic'' Flaming] is survived by her grief-stricken husband, a 16 year old daughter, her aged parents, and one brother, Ernest Voth. the date for the funeral services, which will be held at the Alexanderwohl church, has not yet been announced. | |||
