TWO OLDER RESIDENTS OF WAYLAND COMMUNITY CALLED AWAY IN DEATH
Wayland, Ia., April 16. — Mrs. Anna Wenger Leichty, 76, passed away at her home near Wayland after lingering illness of two years, Tuesday evening, April 14 at six o'clock. She had been a lifelong resident of this community.
She was united in marriage with C. K. Leichty, and to this union were born five children. One daughter, Mary, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, Edd, Otto, and Herman, one daughter, Addie, two brothers, Edd and Will Wenger, four sisters, Barbara Conrad, Mary Schadt, Lizzie Mast and Emma Leichty. Two brothers, John and Dave Wenger preceded her in death.
Mrs. Anna Rediger Unternahrer, a native of Basel, Switzerland, and a resident of this community for many years, passed awaay [sic] at the age of 67 years at her home south of Wayland on Saturday, April 11.
Mrs. Unternahrer's youth was spent in the old country where she was united in marriage with Christian Unternahrer. Six of her eight children were born there before the family came to this country.
Funeral services were in charge of Re.v Simon Gingerich and Rev. Willard Leichty, with a service being held at the home at 1:15 followed by services at the Sugar Creek Mennonite church at 2:00 on Monday, April 13. — Wayland News.
