Pioneer Missionary to Indians Dies

Whitewater, Kan. — Relatives here received word on Tuesday of the death at Reedley, Calif. of Rev. Alfred Wiebe, 85, a pioneer missionary to the Indians under the General Conference Mennonite Church.

Rev. Wiebe was born at Marienberg, Germany and came to Kansas as a young boy. He grew up in the Whitewater community and attended the Emmaus Church. He was a missionary to the Indians at Canton and Seiling, Okla. and also served in Montana before his retirement.
